Is This You?

Are you dealing with strange feelings of fear, disgust, and guilt?

Do you feel embarrassed by habits people would judge you for?

Have you been bothered by ideas, images, or sensations that make you feel terrible?

Do you get stuck doing certain things because it feels like the only option?

Have you struggled to convince others to take your fears seriously?

Do you feel overwhelmed by waves of panic and distress that stop you from doing things?

If this is you, you are in the right place.

Have you been struggling for a long time?

You may have been diagnosed with OCD, or you may still be unsure about that.

Therapy may not have worked for you so far.

You may have searched for someone who gets it, someone who knows that the relaxation apps, mindfulness videos, and coping skills just haven't clicked for you.

Maybe you are hoping someone can understand that the hair pulling and the nail biting isn't "just your anxiety".

If you have tried meditation, deep breathing, relaxation, anxiety coping skills, medications, and you are still struggling, you are probably in the right place.

If this is you, we are glad you are here.

At Burnett CBT, you are the person we want to help.

Whether you are newly diagnosed and starting to recognize your symptoms as OCD, or you have been struggling with OCD and severe anxiety for years, we want to help you live a better life.

At Burnett CBT, we know OCD.

We see the toll that OCD can take on a person, a family, or a relationship. We know that OCD can undermine what you care about.

The truth about OCD is...

OCD can be deafening, threatening, and paralyzing, completely shutting down your life. It can also be a constant quiet whisper in your ear.

In real life, OCD looks different. OCD isn't the thing that keeps your room clean, or the part of you that gets your homework done. Sometimes it is the opposite of those things, sometimes itis completely different from those things. OCD is different when you have a real relationship with it.

OCD promises you answers and safety but asks for your freedom in return. It makes it hard to know where to turn because your mind is in a tug-of-war.

At Burnett CBT, we also believe...

We believe

  • You are doing the best that you can and want to improve.

  • We can all do better, try harder, and be more motivated to change.

  • Embracing reality allows us to take the first step.

  • If you are willing, your relationship with distress can change.

  • We will all fail sometimes, and that is ok.

  • Not every therapist is a good fit for every patient, and that is ok.

  • The therapist and the patient are both the experts and the students.

We believe that treatment can work; exposure therapy, medications, and ComB help people every day.

We believe that you deserve to be one of the 60-80% of people whose symptoms improve with ERP treatment.

We believe that everyone needs hope and support in life.

Ready for more hope and support in your life?

 Is this you?
